Safety Leadership

At R Construction Company, a strong safety culture starts at the top. Our senior management is fully committed to the S.A.F.E. program, empowering every team member to prioritize site safety above all else. With over 10 dedicated safety professionals in the field, we ensure our standards are met across every project.

Life-Saving Safety Rules

R Construction has established guidelines that remind all employees of the measures they must take to protect their own safety. These rules are deemed safety-critical, and there is zero tolerance for violations.

  • Maintain Situational Awareness (Line of fire, Exclusion Zone, Work/Danger Zones, Suspended Loads)
  • Risk Assessment (JSA, Trenching and Excavation Checklist, Permits) Trench and Excavation Safety / Ground Disturbance (811, 24” Exclusion Zone)
  • Driving Safety
  • Atmospheric Monitoring
  • Energy Isolation
  • Confined Space (manholes, tanks, vessels)
  • Working at Heights (6 Feet)
  • Personal Protective Equipment

360 Walk Around Campaign

Safety is our priority. Before operating any company or personal vehicle or heavy equipment, you must perform a 360° walk-around. This quick check helps you spot pedestrians, poles, piping, or other equipment, preventing avoidable accidents every time you move.

180 Days of Summer Heat Illness Prevention Program

R Construction’s ‘180 Days of Summer’ campaign empowers our team to beat the heat. By prioritizing Water, Rest, and Shade, we ensure every employee can recognize the signs of heat illness and take immediate action to keep our job sites safe.

Site Safety Leader Program

At R Construction, safety is a conversation, not only a set of rules. We believe the best way to protect our team is to keep communication open between the field and management. We want you to speak up about jobsite challenges without hesitation.

We all share one goal: to be productive and ensure every person goes home safe every single day. We achieve this together through:

  • Active participation in daily Tailgate Meetings and JSAs.
  • Performing a Last Minute Risk Assessment (LMRA) before every task.
  • Engaging with the Observation Card Program and participating in site safety inspections.
  • Self-reporting all incidents, no matter how small.
  • Exercising your absolute authority to Stop Work on any safety concern.
